Thru It All Training

Hi! Thank you for stopping by the website. This is my basketball training page. Here at Thru It All Training, we focus on the skill development of the individual. As I progressed in the basketball world, most all of my training was done on my own and isolated. Upon reflection, there are an infinite amount of ways my development and skill level could have been executed in a much smoother fashion. My goal now is for kids of any age to enjoy playing the game of basketball while developing skill and challenging themselves.

Creativity, challenge, and joy. The same drills get repetitive and mundane. How can we find something different to test a skill where you have to react? In that space, it becomes game-like where what we do translates directly to the court. And most importantly expressing joy while doing so.

Hi, my name is Connor Gleason. I am going into my 5th year at Concordia University Irvine to play basketball and pursue a master’s degree in Business Administration. I spent the last four years in the basketball program seeing every role imaginable. In my first two years I played a total of 59 minutes. Those two years were challenging for me as I dedicated all my life to a game that I felt hadn’t repaid me for my sweat equity. After seriously considering transferring or quitting the game all together, I decided to stick it out one more year. That third year, my first bit of playing time came 11 games into the season in a blowout loss. After scoring a basket and working hard on defense, coach decided to throw me in the following game. That was the first game where the game of basketball started to click. I played 20 minutes and had 7 points, the most I’d scored in 2.5 years. From that moment on, I slowly progressed into more and more minutes. Eventually, I finished the last stretch of games averaging about 10 points a game and started the last three games of that season. I earned a scholarship following that year and recently completed my fourth year where I started all 26 games and averaged 9 points a game as a former walk on. These trainings include not only tangible, physical development but the mental component that is truly the most important part of the game. We often neglect the mind but it can be our biggest asset or our greatest liability. Every training includes a mental perspective on the game as that is the most important part of not only hoops but life.
